Nominations to Serve on D&E Search Committee Needed by Oct. 11
Students, staff, and faculty:
The University of Kansas will soon launch a national search for the next permanent vice provost for Diversity & Equity at KU. Leading up to that launch I will appoint a search committee to help recruit and vet a robust pool of candidates to fill this important role. I’m seeking nominations of representatives from across the Lawrence and Edwards campuses to serve on this central search committee.
A successful search begins with an active search committee, composed of efficient, diverse, and engaged stakeholders. Recent leadership search committees at KU have been able to conduct successful searches without the aid of an external consultant. This saves considerable financial resources, although it requires that committee members and others with an interest in the search outcome play a more active role in recruiting and generating the robust and diverse applicant pool.
Nominations to serve on the search committee will be kept confidential, but nominators must identify themselves. To nominate someone to serve on the committee, please supply the requested professional and contact information through the link below.
Search committee for the Vice Provost of Diversity & Equity.
I’ll continue to accept nominations until the end of the business day, Friday, Oct. 11. Emails will be sent to potential committee members after all nominations are reviewed, likely sometime during the week of Oct. 14.
Your participation in this search, whether as a search committee member or as an involved member of the KU community, is crucial to identifying a leader who can be successful in in this vital role.
