Summer Construction in Strong Hall to Cause Some Offices to Work Remotely or Relocate
Major upgrades to Strong Hall’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning system will cause some administrative offices to relocate or close for the summer, with faculty and staff working remotely.
Offices that will move to fully remote work include Analytics, Institutional Research & Effectiveness; KU News Service; Madison & Lila Self Graduate Programs; National Defense Initiatives; and University Governance.
The Academic Affairs’ office in Strong 133, which includes Academic Success leadership, will be closed until Aug. 10. Most employees will work remotely, but some will be work in various locations on the Lawrence campus. Those needing to reach the units can email Academic Affairs at aaoffice@ku.edu and Academic Success at academicsuccess@ku.edu or call 785-864-4907. The Student Access Center will be fully remote, and Academic Success Operations and Technologies recently relocated permanently to the Dole Human Development Center.
The Chancellor’s Office will be fully remote, with some employees working in various locations on campus, including Strong Hall’s garden level.
In the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX, some staff will work remotely while others will be temporarily relocated to the Dole Human Development Center, Room 1082. Visitors should come to the Dole Center.
Most employees in the Office of Faculty Affairs will be remote for the summer, but visitors can reach out to facultyaffairs@ku.edu and arrange to meet on campus if needed.
Most employees in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and Controllers Office will be remote, with a few also working in various locations on the Lawrence campus.
Employees with the Kansas Algebra Program will work remotely or relocate to offices in Snow Hall.
Some employees in the Office of Research will work remotely, but the main office in suite 151 will remain open.
Student Affairs will move to offices in the Kansas Union over the summer and encourages guests to contact studentaffairs@ku.edu or 785-864-4060 before visiting. Similarly, Student Conduct & Community Standards can be contacted at kusccs@ku.edu to schedule an appointment in the Union.
Most offices in the east and west wings of the building will remain for the summer, including the Office of Audit, Risk & Compliance; the Finance Shared Service Center; General Counsel; Graduate & Postdoctoral Affairs; units within KU International Affairs; Mail Services; Office of the Provost; and Trio Student Support Services. Offices with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences will remain in Strong Hall for the summer, except for the College Business and Financial Planning Office, which will temporarily relocate to Snow Hall.
