Zoom Contract Extended for Two More Years
Dear colleagues,
I am very excited to share news that faculty and staff on the KU Lawrence and Edwards campuses will continue to have access to host courses, meetings and webinars on the Zoom platform. Students will still have access as participants.
Earlier this semester, it had been communicated that the video communications platform would be phased out in June due to budget and increased cost considerations. You spoke up; we listened and worked on solutions.
Through the efforts of the Chancellor’s Office, Provost’s Office, Operations, KU Information Technology, Finance and the Procurement Office, we were able to secure a two-year contract that gives us the functionality and ease of use you requested.
Thank you to all who shared input and who made this new direction possible, especially the Procurement Office, which helped KU secure a more favorable contract.
Sincerely,
Arash Mafi, Ph.D.
Chief Academic Officer, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor
