Dear Colleague,

It has been my absolute honor to work alongside you the past six years.

As I close out my service as KU’s Provost/Chief Academic Officer and Executive Vice Chancellor for Lawrence and Edwards campuses, we can look back and see the incredible progress we’ve made to advance the University of Kansas.

Since I started in the role of Provost on February 24, 2020, I’ve always closed my messages with “Thank you for all you do for KU.” This sentiment has always been sincere. Each of us brings talent and time that move KU forward. Each effort, large and small, is an investment that makes a difference to our students, our colleagues and to our state.

I so greatly appreciate your partnership, care and support of each other, and of this institution. Your work ensures KU – which many of us also have the privilege to call our alma mater – continues long after us.

As I hand off the baton of academic leadership to Provost Mafi, I look forward to re-engaging in discovery, education and service as a faculty member, and to working with you in the future to continue advancing the academic mission of KU.

Thank you for your stewardship of KU. Our best days and our greatest achievements have always been, and will always be, because of you and of our collective commitment to the Jayhawk community.
