Look for Great Colleges to Work For survey coming on Monday
Colleagues,
We want to share an important update about one of the ways we are strengthening KU as a workplace and community.
Beginning on Monday, KU will participate in the Great Colleges to Work For survey, a nationally benchmarked assessment that will help us better understand the staff experience across our university. This survey is part of our ongoing effort to create an environment where every employee feels valued and respected.
As part of the continuing progress of our One KU initiative to build a more connected and collaborative university, we have created a University Constituent Survey process as a coordinated, university‑wide approach to gathering feedback from our community.
While staff will participate in this survey, faculty will not be included this year because of ongoing faculty union negotiations. At the request of United Academics of KU last year, the Lawrence and Edwards Campus Faculty Senate and KU leadership agreed that faculty participation in constituent surveys would pause during union negotiations for an initial collective bargaining agreement. We appreciate the thoughtful conversation that led to this decision, and we look forward to future opportunities to gather faculty feedback once this work is complete.
About the Great Colleges to Work For Survey
On Monday, Feb. 23, staff members on all campuses will receive an email invitation from ModernThink, the independent organization administering the Great Colleges to Work For survey. The message will include a secure link and instructions for completing the survey, which takes about 20 minutes. The survey will remain open through March 9. Your responses will be confidential, and KU will not receive personally identifiable information.
You can find out more on our Great Colleges to Work For webpage.
We strongly encourage you to participate. Your feedback helps us identify what is working well and where we can do better. It also guides decisions that shape the employee experience and helps us build a stronger, more unified KU.
As always, thank you for the work you do every day to advance our institution. KU is a strong and vibrant university because of your dedication and talent, and we are grateful for your continued commitment as we move forward together.
Respectfully,
Barbara A. Bichelmeyer
