KU Lawrence Edwards All Faculty and Staff

Dear Colleagues,

KU Dining, a department of the KU Memorial Unions, is excited to announce adjustments to offer new and improved service this semester — including free meals for KU employees on Faculty and Staff Day. We have listened to your feedback and concerns, and we have implemented new menu rotations, order features, programming, catering options and more.

KU Dining is striving to meet your needs, and offers 17 locations across the Lawrence campus, including two all-you-care-to-eat, seven retail, and eight Coffeehouse WPS Starbucks sites. It is also the exclusive caterer for campus. A summary of this year’s new offerings are:

The Market, Kansas Union

  • While you can still order ahead through GrubHub to skip the line, you can also order food at any of the four dining establishments at the Market including King’s Hawaiian, Pizza Hut, Serrano’s and Blend, then pay at the register.
  • On weekly Taco Platter Tuesdays, you can enjoy three tacos, hard- or soft-shelled, with a side of beans and rice for only $8.50.
  • At Blend, you will be able to enjoy fresh seasonal salads and acai bowls.

Underground, Wescoe Hall

  • Order ahead through GrubHub or order and pay at Asian Kitchen, The Grill and Pizza Hut. Your food will be prepared after ordering and you can pick up your food through a numbered ticket.
  • At Wescoe Deli, sandwiches and salads will be made to order and paid for at the register after ordering.

Coffeehouses, various locations

  • Our locations feature fresh grab-and-go items that are made in-house, including sandwiches, salads and fruit cups.

Catering

  • Our updated catering guide now includes to-go lunches. You are welcome to attend the Kansas Union’s open house today, Thursday, Aug. 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. Please RSVP to experience firsthand the catering options, facilities, and services available for academic conferences, workshops, special events, and more.

South Dining Commons at Downs Hall, and Mrs. E's at Lewis Hall

  • Our two all-you-care-to-eat residential dining locations add new menu rotations featuring build-your-own potato and pasta stations and new Omaha Steaks burgers at Mrs. E’s.
  • On Faculty and Staff Day, Sept. 24, all faculty and staff can eat free at either location using your KUID for entry.

Hawks Nest, Kansas Union, Level 1

  • The Hawks Nest will serve food and beverage items for purchase on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays throughout the academic year with themed programs such as Wine Wednesday and Football Friday. Groups can reserve tables by contacting eventservices@ku.edu.

We continue aiming to serve quality, convenient and nutritious food to the KU Lawrence campus and we hope you enjoy our new additions. Our team has been working hard over the summer to ensure our food and service make KU Dining a fantastic experience for every Jayhawk. We are excited to welcome you.

Respectfully,

Jack Kredo
