Leadership Updates for HR, IT and Operations
Dear Colleague,
I hope your summer has been restful and rewarding.
Chancellor Girod shared in his last Weekly Update video, which focused on One KU, that we will be reorganizing at the university level to create a greater degree of alignment among our leaders. We expect this will facilitate better collaboration and new opportunities for growing and innovating in our research, teaching and service, as well as creating more effective and efficient administration.
Today I’m sharing news of leadership changes at KU Lawrence and Edwards that will further align the campuses as part of One KU.
Effective today, three interim and well-respected campus leaders are being directly appointed into official leadership roles:
- Angie Loving, who has served as Interim Vice Provost for Human Resources, will take on the responsibilities and title of Vice Chancellor of Human Resources serving KU Lawrence and Edwards. We are working on moving Angie’s reporting line to Chari Young in her new role as Chief Human Resources Officer.
- Callie Long, who has served as Interim Vice Provost for Operations will take on the responsibilities and title of Vice Chancellor of Operations serving KU Lawrence and Edwards. We are working to move Callie’s reporting line to David Vranicar in his new role as Chief Operating Officer.
- Ed Hudson, who has served as Interim Vice Provost of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer will take on the titles of Vice Chancellor of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer serving KU Lawrence and Edwards. We intend to move his reporting line to David Vranicar.
Angie, Callie and Ed have each stepped forward in a spirit of greater service to KU, and they have all been valued partners as we have worked to transform KU Lawrence and Edwards. It’s hard to imagine more dedicated leaders. Each brings both expertise in their respective fields as well as institutional knowledge. They have shown great leadership of and advocacy for their units. Daily, they demonstrate stewardship of the institution and a commitment to service for each member of our community. I look forward to continuing to work with them, and with Chari and David, as we engage together in providing even greater service to our students, staff and faculty, while also continuing our commitment to stewardship of KU.
Please join me in congratulating Angie, Callie and Ed and wishing them further success in their respective roles.
Respectfully,
Barb
