Integration of international recruitment into Enrollment Management Office
Dear Colleagues,
The international recruitment team has recently transitioned its functions under the Office of Enrollment Management and will soon make the physical move to the 1502 Building in March. This change will combine our strengths to grow our international community at KU.
International recruitment and admissions are key components of our strategic enrollment plan as we develop recruitment targets for all types of students and modalities. This realignment is the best path forward in supporting the continued internationalization of our student population.
While international admissions for graduate students have already been operating under Enrollment Management, International Undergraduate Admissions leadership had been discussing for several months how to better align and resource the overall international admissions and recruitment functions at KU.
We realized International Admissions and Enrollment Management shared common goals, including increasing international enrollments; better aligning international graduate and undergraduate admissions processes; enhancing professional development and advancement opportunities for staff; and improving access to and coordination of resources, expertise and information between recruitment and admissions areas at KU. We also began greater collaboration through the alignment of scholarship processing and the posting of transfer credit, both of which were tremendous successes this fall.
The resources that can be harnessed through integration, the opportunities for growth and advancement across the enrollment management enterprise, and the positive impact on the student experience are all benefits of this change.
We appreciate your flexibility during this transition and your ongoing work to grow our Jayhawk presence across the world. To ensure sustained advances in this area, we will soon be adding a recruiter to the team. We look forward to continuing this collaborative effort and the opportunities ahead.
Respectfully,
Charles Bankart
