Dear Colleague,

I am writing to share news of changes within KU Information Technology. Chief Information Officer Mary Walsh has let me know she is retiring from her role at KU. I have asked her to stay through the summer, and her last day as CIO will be August 5, 2023. To ensure support for interim leadership and successful transfer of key projects, Mary has also agreed to continue to maintain a relationship with KU through September 30.

We will soon announce interim leadership and share plans related to the search for the next CIO.

I greatly appreciate Mary for the many contributions she has made to KU during her five years including shepherding us all through IT needs during COVID, developing a service-focused and relational culture in IT, strengthening IT security and leading a number of technology innovations for research and educational programs. I personally appreciate the spirit Mary brings to work every day. Please join me in wishing her all the best as she makes this transition to the next chapter of her life.

Sincerely,

Barb
