Dear Colleague,

Our search committee for the next Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs has been meeting to review candidates who have stepped forward for this important leadership position.

Because the end of semester and summer schedules are particularly challenging, we want to ensure you have ample opportunity to include the candidate public presentations in your schedule.

Three candidates have been invited to take part in finalist interviews and meet with the committee, KU leaders and constituent groups. The candidates also will make a public presentation the day before they meet with the committee and constituent groups. The presentation topic is “Who are the faculty and how can the VPFA support them?” Candidates and the time and location of their presentation will be announced at least 1 business day before their presentation. Members of the KU community can participate in the presentation in person or by Zoom. Log-in details will be available soon.

The schedule of presentations is:

Candidate 1: Presentation on 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Forum D, Burge Union, June 1; Interview with search committee and constituent groups on June 2

Candidate 2: Presentation on 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Forum D, Burge Union, June 5; Interview with search committee and constituent groups on June 6

Candidate 3: Presentation on 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Forum A, Burge Union, June 8; Interview with search committee and constituent groups on June 9

We encourage you to provide observations and feedback on each candidate shortly after they deliver their presentation. The opportunity to offer feedback on each candidate will be open for a limited time.

On behalf of the committee, we appreciate your partnership and involvement in this leadership search.

Respectfully,

Ann Brill, Dean of the School of Journalism and Mass Communications, and search committee co-chair

Nate Brunsell, Faculty Senate President, Professor of Geography and Atmospheric Science and search committee co-chair
