Is Your Personal Information Correct in HR/Pay?

KU Lawrence Staff, Faculty & Affiliates

Colleagues,

KU is committed to ensuring equal opportunity in employment for all people. To help us benchmark our progress toward a diverse and inclusive campus, it’s important that our faculty and staff demographic information is accurate.

As a state university and federal contractor, KU is required to annually report race, ethnicity, veteran, and disability data of our workforce and employee searches.

The federal government defines disabilities as covering a variety of conditions and illnesses — including cancer, diabetes, trauma, addiction and depression — that can limit major life activities.

All KU employees are invited to self-identify or update previous disclosures by logging into HR/Pay and selecting the “Personal Details” tile, then the “Disability” tile. Your participation and individual information will remain confidential.

Aggregate information provided by KU employees will:

  • Assist in measuring progress in our diversity, inclusion and accessibility initiatives;

  • Help Human Resource Management provide the federally required numerical data; and

  • Guide efforts that bring new programming to campus.

Additionally, this is a good time to review your personal information under the Addresses, Contact Details and Emergency Contacts tiles, and add missing information such as a personal/home phone number.

Finally, please review the KU Directory tile to confirm that your primary work location (generally your KU office for in-person and hybrid positions) is correct. If you want to change your work designation (i.e., in-person, hybrid or remote), please review the Remote Work policy for guidance and instruction. If your position is remote, enter your county (if in Kansas) in the KU Building field or your state (if outside of Kansas). Search for states by entering “OTH” or search for Kansas counties by entering “KS.”

We all want KU to be welcoming as well as exceptional. Inclusion starts with each one of us.

Thank you for all you do for KU.

Respectfully,

Barbara
