Remind Employees of Designated Work Locations

Colleagues,

In the spring, you worked with Vice Provost Mike Rounds and his team to determine the work location for each of your employees for the coming academic year, designating each position as on-campus, 100% remote or hybrid. Thank you for participating in that project. It is important as we return to a full residential campus experience that we understand how our work locations align with the service and support needs of our students and other constituents.

At your earliest opportunity and by July 15 at the latest, please make sure your employees are aware of their designated work location for the coming academic year. A few related thoughts:

  • Human Resource Management will soon notify employees designated to work remotely and their supervisors of required training.
  • Employees who will be on campus and have not yet returned should strive to return to their campus workspace by Aug. 1 to be settled and prepared for the fall semester. On the Lawrence campus, many early arrival students, as well as faculty, will seek out services long before the first day of classes on Aug. 23.
  • If employees — particularly remote employees — need technology help, encourage them to work with your unit’s IT Support team or contact the KU IT Customer Service Center, 785-864-8080.

The process of rebuilding our campus presence takes considerable thought as well as attention to those who will be providing services to our community members. I’m so appreciative of your efforts and support as we prepare to return for a more typical on-campus experience this fall.

Respectfully,

Barb
