Aaron M. Mohs
Biography—
Aaron Mohs is a professor of pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy, as well as the associate dean for research and graduate studies and director of the Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences program.
In his current position, Mohs leads a collaborative, NIH-funded research program on the development of fluorescent probes to guide the surgical resection of tumors, fluorescent sensor array technology that can rapidly detect and identify bacterial pathogens, and drug delivery systems to target multiple myeloma.
Prior to joining UNMC, Mohs was an assistant professor of biomedical engineering in the Wake Forest – Virginia Tech School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences.
Mohs is a member of the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and has previously served as the president of the UNMC faculty senate and the director of the pharmaceutical sciences graduate program. He currently serves on numerous advisory boards at UNMC related to research and education.
In addition, Mohs has won the 2017 UNMC New Investigator award, 2019 UNMC Distinguished Scientist award, been selected as a fellow of the National Strategic Research Institute at the University of Nebraska, and received the College of Pharmacy Impact Award.
