Higher Learning Commission Accreditation

Every 10 years, KU undergoes extensive preparation for a university-wide re-accreditiation review by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

What is the Higher Learning Commission?

The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the United States. An independent corporation, it is one of six regional accreditors in the United States. The HLC's mission is to "Advance the common good through quality assurance of higher education as the leader in equitable, transformative and trusted accreditation in the service of students and member institutions."

KU's 2025 HLC Review

KU's next re-affirmation of accreditation will take place in 2025. As part of the review, KU will demonstrate how it meets the following HLC requirements:
