For the past year, the role of Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs has been filled in either an interim or acting capacity. I would like to give my sincere thanks to Stuart Day who stepped forward to fill the role with dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm. Because this role is so critical to the success of our university, we are committing to a full internal search for the permanent appointment to the role.
About the Position
The Office of the Provost invites internal nominations and applications for the position of Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. The SVP for Academic Affairs reports to the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor and formulates and implements academic and administrative policies and goals working in concert with the vice provosts, deans, and in cooperation with University Governance. The SVP for Academic Affairs is the senior-most position in the provost’s leadership team and coordinates various academic programs to enhance and support the academic mission. The offices of Undergraduate Studies, Graduate Studies, International Programs, and the Center for Online and Distance Learning all report directly to the SVP of Academic Affairs.
Required qualifications include appointment as a tenured KU faculty member and a minimum of five years of administrative experience at the departmental, school/college, and/or university level. Only current KU faculty will be considered. Please visit the position description for complete details.
