Use of University Facilities by External Organizations
Some time ago, the University developed a policy and procedures to assist units that are approached by outside organizations wishing to use their facilities. In the past, such requests often were addressed to the University Events Committee, which is very good at helping student and campus organizations hold successful events but found itself less equipped to deal with requests from external organizations.
At the committee's request, the Provost's Office, in consultation with the Lied Center, Athletics, the Spencer Museum or Art, and other organizations that regularly host outside events, developed a policy to address this matter. After gaining some experience with the policy and guidelines, we have refined them. Our goal is to assist external organizations when their requests do not interfere with the University's mission and functions.
