KU Lawrence Staff, Faculty and Affiliates

I want to inform you of the recently approved the Retiree Rehire Policy, available in the Policy Library. This policy applies to all retired faculty and staff who seek reemployment with the University. Case law and Internal Revenue Service private letter rulings require the establishment of a bona fide separation from service for purposes of accessing retirement funds. The policy will help ensure that the University adheres to relevant laws and rulings when rehiring a retired member of the faculty or staff.

The policy is now in effect. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Ola Faucher, Director of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity, 864-7411 or

Danny J. Anderson
Interim Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor
